Son of Caleb by his concubine Ephah

Who is Moza in the Bible?

Moza was a son of Caleb, the renowned spy and leader of Israel, born to Caleb's concubine Ephah, as recorded in 1 Chronicles 2:46. Caleb himself was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout Canaan and was one of only two who gave a faithful report, earning the privilege to enter the promised land alongside Joshua. Beyond his lineage to this significant biblical figure, little else is known about Moza's personal life or accomplishments. It is important to note that another Moza appears in the genealogies of King Saul among the tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:36-37, 9:42-43), but these are distinct individuals. Moza's primary significance lies in his place within Caleb's extended family line.

Biography

Moza was one of the sons of Caleb, the son of Hezron, by his concubine Ephah (1Ch.2.46). Caleb was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout out Canaan (Num.13.6). Along with Joshua, he gave a good report and was permitted to enter the promised land (Num.14.30). No other details are given about Moza's life. He is not to be confused with the Benjamite Moza mentioned in the genealogies of Saul (1Ch.8.36-37, 9:42-43).
