Who is Nethanel in the Bible?

Nethanel son of Zuar was the leader of the Israelite tribe of Issachar during the wilderness wanderings under Moses (Numbers 1:8). He was appointed to assist with the census of Israel and made offerings at the dedication of the tabernacle (Numbers 7:18, 23). As a tribal leader, Nethanel led the men of Issachar as they marched under their standard as part of the camp of Judah on the east side of the tabernacle (Numbers 2:5). His name means "given of God," reflecting the role he held as one of the divinely appointed leaders organizing Israel during their journey toward the Promised Land.

Biography

Nethanel and the men of Issachar marched under their tribal standard as part of the camp of Judah, on the east side of the tabernacle (Num.2.5). His name means "given of God."
