Who is Zechariah in the Bible?
Zechariah was a Levite who served during the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah, as recorded in 2 Chronicles 20:14. When a vast military force threatened Judah, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Zechariah during a public assembly, and he prophesied an encouraging message to the people, urging them not to fear because the battle belonged to God. Biography
Zechariah was a Levite who lived during the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah. He was the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah. During a time of crisis, when a great multitude came against Judah, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Zechariah in the midst of the assembly. He prophesied, encouraging the people not to fear, for the battle belonged to God. This Zechariah is only mentioned in this single passage.
