Son of Abiel, a Benjamite

Who is Zur in the Bible?

Zur was a son of Abiel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:30, 9:36). He appears in the genealogical records of the Benjamite family line, specifically listed as an ancestor in the lineage that included Saul, Israel's first king. Though Zur himself is not described as performing any notable deeds in Scripture, his inclusion in these genealogies underscores the importance of tracing tribal ancestry in ancient Israel and his connection to one of the most significant figures in Israel's early monarchy.
