Where is Beth-horon_Lower in the Bible?
Lower Beth-horon was a town in ancient Canaan located in the hill country between the coastal plain and the central highlands, in the territory allotted to the tribe of Ephraim (with some references also mentioning Dan). The town appears in the Book of Joshua and is most famous as the site of a miraculous battle where Joshua commanded the sun to stand still in the sky as the Israelites pursued their enemies. This extraordinary event, recorded in Joshua 10, made Lower Beth-horon a symbol of God's direct intervention in Israel's military campaigns during the conquest of Canaan. The town served as an important strategic location controlling one of the main routes between the coastal regions and the Judean hills.
