Where is Betonim in the Bible?

Betonim was an ancient town located in the region of Gilead, east of the Jordan River, and was allotted to the tribe of Gad as part of their tribal inheritance. The town is mentioned in the Book of Joshua as one of the fortified cities given to the Gadites during the division of the Promised Land among the twelve tribes of Israel. Its inclusion in the biblical account reflects the settlement patterns of the Israelite tribes and the territorial boundaries established after the conquest of Canaan. While Betonim's exact modern location remains uncertain, it represents an important part of the biblical geography of Transjordan, the region east of the Jordan River where several Israelite tribes established their territories.
