Where is Elealeh in the Bible?
Elealeh was a Moabite city located in the region east of the Jordan River, near the city of Heshbon in what is now modern-day Jordan. Though initially assigned to the tribe of Reuben according to Numbers, Elealeh is primarily remembered from the biblical prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah, who included it in their oracles pronouncing judgment and destruction upon Moab. The city appears alongside Heshbon in these prophecies of divine judgment, symbolizing Moab's coming downfall. Today, Elealeh is identified with the archaeological mound of el'Al, located approximately one mile north of Heshbon in the ancient land of Moab.
