Where is Eshan in the Bible?

Eshan was a city located in the hill country of Judah and was allotted to the tribe of Judah according to the book of Joshua. The exact location of Eshan is uncertain, though some biblical scholars suggest the name may be a corruption or alternate form of Beersheba, another significant biblical city in the Judah region. As one of the cities assigned to Judah during the division of the Promised Land, Eshan represented part of the territorial inheritance given to this tribe. While Eshan receives only brief mention in Scripture, it reflects the systematic distribution of Canaan's cities among the Israelite tribes following their conquest of the land.
