Where is Gath-rimmon in the Bible?

Gath-rimmon was a Levitical city located in the territory of Dan in ancient Israel, though it also appears associated with the territories of Manasseh and Ephraim in different biblical accounts. This city was allotted to the Kohathite Levites, a priestly clan responsible for maintaining the Tabernacle and its sacred vessels. Gath-rimmon is mentioned in Joshua 21:24 as one of the cities set apart specifically for Levitical use, reflecting the biblical practice of distributing cities throughout Israel's territory to support the priesthood. The exact location of Gath-rimmon remains uncertain today, though ancient sources suggest it was situated in the region between what are now known as Antipatris and Jamnia in central ancient Palestine.

More probably it is identical with the "Gath" which Eusebius, Onomasticon places between Antipatris and Jamnia. It is not identified.

(2) A town in the territory of Manasseh, West of Jordan, given to the Levites (Jos 21:25). There is nothing to indicate the position of the place, and there is much confusion in the writing of the name: Septuagint Codex Alexandrinus, "Baithsa"; Codex Vaticanus, "Jebatha." In 1Ch 6:70 it is replaced by "Bileam," i.e. IBLEAM (which see).
