Where is Jetur in the Bible?

Jetur appears in the Bible both as a person and as a region. In the Old Testament, Jetur was a son of Ishmael and the founder of a tribal group (1 Chronicles 5:18-19). By New Testament times, his descendants had established themselves in the region known as Ituraea, located in the area between Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon mountains in what is now Syria and Lebanon. This region is mentioned in the Gospel of Luke as part of the territory ruled during Jesus's time. The Itureans, descendants of Jetur, were known as a semi-nomadic Arabian people who inhabited this northeastern region of the Levant.
