Where is Jeshua in the Bible?

Jeshua was a town in the region of Judah, located in the Negev area approximately 12 miles east-northeast of Beersheba. It appears in the biblical record in the Book of Nehemiah, where it is mentioned as one of the towns inhabited by the people of Judah following their return from Babylonian exile around the 5th century BC. The site may correspond with ancient settlements called Shema and Sheba mentioned in Joshua, and scholars believe it may be located at the archaeological site of Khirbet Sa'weh, a prominent hilltop ruin surrounded by ancient stone walls. Jeshua's mention in Nehemiah reflects the post-exilic restoration period when the Jewish people resettled their ancestral territories.
