Where is Laishah in the Bible?

Laishah is a small place mentioned in the prophet Isaiah's oracle against the Assyrian army, appearing only in Isaiah 10:30. Located in the region of Benjamin, near the towns of Anathoth and Gallim, Laishah was situated in the area north and east of Jerusalem, likely on the eastern slopes near the Mount of Olives. Scholars have tentatively identified it with the modern location of Isawiyeh, though the exact site remains uncertain. In Isaiah's prophecy, Laishah is referenced as part of the prophet's description of the Assyrian army's advance through the Judean highlands, making it significant primarily for understanding the geographical scope of Isaiah's warnings to ancient Judah.
