The core insight of en is that Scripture often teaches by locating realities. A believer is not merely near Christ but, in many Pauline contexts, in Christ. Thanksgiving is not merely for every circumstance but in every circumstance. Abiding in John 15 is not a bare metaphor but the life of branches remaining in the vine. At the same time, en is not a magic theological switch.
The same preposition can speak of Bethlehem in Judea, people in a house, events in a dream, or life in Christ. Faithful teaching asks what sphere, relation, or circumstance the passage names and then lets that local use carry its own weight.

En normally governs a dative phrase, and its English rendering depends on that phrase and context. The same form may be rendered in, by, with, among, or within, so translation choice should follow the local syntactic relationship rather than a one-word rule.
The canonical movement is thematic rather than a single-word bridge. Scripture repeatedly locates God's people before Him, among His people, within covenant blessing, and finally in Christ. The New Testament's in-Christ language should be read as the fulfillment of God's saving union and belonging, but en itself does not carry that whole doctrine in every occurrence.
