G2128 does more than signal a positive feeling. In its eight governed uses, the adjective places praise where the passage says it belongs and then invites readers to hear the reasons. The God of Israel visits and redeems. The Creator remains worthy when creatures receive misplaced worship. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus gives comfort, spiritual blessing, mercy, new birth, and living hope.
Mark's title “the Blessed One” appears within a decisive question about Jesus' identity. A faithful teacher should therefore keep praise concrete. Name the recipient, repeat the acts or attributes supplied by the text, and let doctrine produce worship without allowing a worshipful tone to substitute for careful reading.
