Ethan אֵיתָן
Son of Zerah; grandson of Judah.
Who is Ethan in the Bible?
Ethan was a son of Zerah and grandson of Judah, appearing in the genealogical records of 1 Chronicles 2:6 and 2:8. He was one of five sons born to Zerah, who himself was the son of Judah and Tamar. Though little is known about Ethan's individual life or accomplishments, his inclusion in the genealogy of Judah's descendants establishes his place in the lineage that would eventually lead to the tribe of Judah and, ultimately, to Jesus Christ. His name appears primarily as part of the broader biblical record of Israel's tribal heritage and family lines.
