Son of Gad; head of the Oznite clan.

Who is Ezbon in the Bible?

Ezbon, also known as Ozni, was a son of Gad mentioned in Genesis 46:16 as one of the sons born to Gad while the Israelites were in Egypt. He became the head of the Oznite clan, one of the family divisions within the tribe of Gad, and his descendants were counted in the wilderness census recorded in Numbers 26:16. The Oznites were named after him and represented one of the distinct lineages within the larger tribe of Gad during Israel's early tribal organization. Though little is known of his personal life, Ezbon's significance lies in his role as an ancestral founder of one of Gad's major clans in ancient Israel.
