Judges 19:25-26

Gibeah's Outrage: Covenant Hospitality Collapses into Horror

Judges 19 descends from attempted household reconciliation into national moral horror, showing that when there is no righteous covenant rule, Israelite society can become unsafe for the vulnerable, brutal toward women, and numb to the LORD's holy standards.

Berean Standard Bible, Public Domain - Translation notes - Reference sources

25But the men would not listen to him. So the Levite took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go.

26Early that morning, the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, collapsed at the doorway, and lay there until it was light.
